卡勒德·胡赛尼（Khaled Hosseini），1965年生于阿富汗斯坦首都喀布尔市，后随父亲迁往美国。胡赛尼毕业于加州大学圣地亚哥医学系，现居加州。“立志拂去蒙在阿富汗斯坦普通民众面孔的尘灰，将背后灵魂的悸动展示给世人。”。
《追风筝的人》是他的第YI本小说，因书中角色刻画生动，故事情节震撼感人，出版后大获好评，获得各项新人奖，并跃居全美各大畅销排行榜，《追风筝的人》已经由梦工厂改拍成电影。还著有：《灿烂千阳》(A Thousand Splendid Suns，2007)、《群山回唱》（And the Mountains Echoed,2013）。作品全球销量超过4000万册。
2006年，因其作品巨大的国际影响力，胡赛尼获得联合国人道主义奖，并受邀担任联合国难民署亲善大使。


 


 
      卡勒德·胡赛尼（Khaled Hosseini）被称为“世界上最有名的阿富汗人”，2003年他的处女作《Kite Runner》(追风筝的人)征服了全世界。
 
卡勒德·胡赛尼1965年生于喀布尔, 1980年苏联入侵阿富汗时，全家逃往美国。《Kite Runner》讲述了喀布尔富家少爷阿米尔和仆人哈桑的故事，将阿富汗君主制的终结、塔利班当权、“9·11”等政治事件融合在小说生活背景中。书中的主人公在成长过程中见证了战争、宗教、爱、愧疚、赎罪等人类永恒话题。第二本小说《A Thousand Splendid Suns》(灿烂千阳)被认为是“女性版《Kite Runner》”，讲述了两个阿富汗女性如何在婚姻暴力、干旱和贫穷中挣扎求生。胡赛尼的这两本小说在全球范围内累计售出3800万册。《And the Mountains》(群山回响）的写作从2009年11月开始，到2012年10月才完成初稿，历时近三年。在提笔创作前，胡赛尼并不知道这会是一个怎样的故事，但是一幅画面像霹雳一样击中了他，并在他的脑海中越来越清晰。
 
那是一个男人拖着老式马车在沙漠中行走，车厢里坐着一个3岁左右的女孩，后面跟着一个10岁左右的男孩。
 
“我不知道他们是谁，但这个画面给我的印象是如此强烈，我必须要找到他们。”原来他们是亲密的兄妹，行走在前往喀布尔的路上，后来发生的事情铸成了他们六十年的悲欢离合。
